Ok, so my job search/hunt/scavenging is in full effect… I feel as though I am trying to sell a over-hyped product with too many certificates and gizmo’s. Not that I think my education is bad… it just lacks one thing. EXPERIENCE! As all the recruiters keep telling me:
“That position just requires a tad more experience.”
So here I am sitting at a coffee shop with free wi-fi and sending emails and resumes all over the city, pleading for an interview, a call back… anything. But all is good, tomorrow I have a meeting in Norman at OU Price College of Business (my alma mater) in which I hope to get some contacts, leads, and/or advice from the folks at the Student Support Center – which by the way got $3,000 of my hard earned cash (a hidden tuition charge that wasn’t in the brochures… scoundrels!)
In other thoughts, I am people watching right now and I must say, watching people eat is not pleasant. Especially those of the heavier persuasion… Do you tell a complete stranger that they have mayonnaise on their cheek? Or just leave them to figure it out 2 hours from now…
Job searching is like trying to get a girlfriend… I know there are multiple possibilities out there, and I know many who have good ones, but only few who are captivated by the one that they have. I want to be captivated.
And that is probably why I am jobless and girl-less. Go figure.
