hey ya…
ok, so all is well and camp is kicking after a week of intense work and some great hang out time, it is time for camp to begin… All the staff comes in tomorrow and thus begins some hardcore bonding, teambuilding, and training. It is going to be a great and busy week.
This past week we installed a sprinkler system around the warming hut (dining hall) and around the boys cabin area. Not a small job. It required trenching, piping and a whole lot of digging rocks out of the groud. We had a great time and worked a ton, getting acclimated was probably the hardest part of the whole week. Constant thirst, chapped lips and great boogers. Remedy: nalgene of water every 20 minutes, Burt’s Bee’s Chapstick, and a hanky in the back pocket.
We are way ahead of where we were last year this time, as the lake is 60 ft higher. This allowed us to get the boats and jet skis in the water and I am pleased (psyched!!!) to say that… The Durango area got about 10 less feet of snow this winter which could be bad for us in late August as the dam will have to let out some water to keep the Los Pinos flowing… which will leave us with a very low lake in late July August.
Tonites plan is to do laundry, eat at a local eatery, and chill at Durango Joe’s a local coffee house in town… should be fun as it is needed time off and gives us a chance to chill and relax.
more later….

I’ve heard installing sprinkler systems are ridiculously hard! Daniel’s having fun being a full-time working man, and I’m bored to death writing a thesis. Have fun getting ready for the campers!
I was just thinking while I was walking to work today that workweek must be starting soon at all the kamps. Has been a few summers since I was doing that (k1) and it is crazy to think about that going on while it was just another ordinary Tuesday here.
Sam…I love you…I miss you…I miss Kamp, but things are going great here in Dallas. Mavs are in the playoffs, so gamedays here are crazy busy. I’ve been introduced to a whole new side to corporate entertainment. The money fools have and don’t know what to do with is amazing! I have a book you gotta check out. Easy reading, but good thus far. “The Alchamist.” Let me know how you are doing. Tell James (jamie) what up and that I love him. Peace out nig.
