metanarrative…

I love metanarratives, they are engrossing, applicable and highly entertaining. Brian McLaren’s Trilogy of “A New Kind of Christian” is some great work in discussing relevant issues in contemporary Christianity in story format. Recently I picked up, “Three Signs of a Miserable Job” by Patrick Lencioni, and it did not disappoint.

Following Brian a blue collar CEO of a Exercise Equipment Company, we see how interpersonal relationships and being personable as a manager is the key to success far more important than many realize. It is a great story of how to derive meaning in any job and impassion employees to see their own contribution to happiness in the workplace and how this one factor can lead to the ultimate success of the company. Good easy read, I finished the book in one day (I devour books), though it may take you a little longer.
