10.14.11 // Stillbirth & Surfing by Nathan Oldfield — This incredibly moving mini-documentary follows a surfboard shaper’s journey as he grieves over the loss of his daughter, who was stillborn. In shaping a board dedicated to her memory, he carves out the pain in his heart; then in giving the board to his pro-surfing friends to ride, he allows others help him carry the weight of the loss. A story of loss, grief, and the healing power of community.
