For a few months, Drew Crowson and I have been kicking around the idea of collaborating on a long-form gonzo blog, consisting of first-person stories and reflections written in the style of Hunter S. Thompson or Jack Kerouac (minus the heavy drug use and fornication). Together Drew and I have a philosophy on life, which revolves around a laid back perspective of fluidity in life’s torrid waters.
“Goatleggin’ it” is living in the moment, not worried about the past or the future. It’s a flow, a movement, and a lifestyle. Like water over rocks, goatleggin’ is the tempered response to the friction of everyday life. The articles found on goatlegg.in will be written in this vein, stories about living for today, ruminations about tomorrow and candid interviews with interesting people who evoke the goatleggin’ lifestyle.
The website launched yesterday and already we’ve had a great response to the articles and short essays. We expect to post around 1-2 articles a week including interviews of our eclectic friends and talented acquaintances. Some of the articles that have already been published include:
- Living and Freezing in Leadville by Drew Crowson
- A Cornerstone of Respect by Sam DuRegger
- What’s in a Knife… by Sam DuRegger
- #BestDayEver by Drew Crowson
- Losing a Sesame Seed: thoughts on positive tests, dropping hormone levels, and blighted ovums. by Sam DuRegger
- Australia is Beautiful. by Drew Crowson
We’d love it if you’d take a moment and SUBSCRIBE to the RSS feed of goatlegg.in, so that you can be kept in the loop of our newest writings and interviews. And as always, thank you for your loyalty in readership of my stuff! I’m always amazed how people stumble upon my writings and meanderings, it’s humbling to hear how some of my random thoughts actually hit a chord in your heart… so again, thanks.
- Sam
